Davis was not in his usual patrol car on this day. He was driving an undercover vehicle that blended seamlessly into regular traffic, but was also equipped to handle the unexpected challenges.
This car was not a cruiser but it had plenty of power. Its acceleration in straightaways was probably superior to that of a patrol car. Davis was counting heavily on this advantage as the white Honda started to gain ground.
