He couldn’t believe his own eyes
Davis approached with deliberate steps and narrowed his eyes in order to see more clearly through the tinted windows. He was shocked and in disbelief when he saw a familiar face, from a past chapter he had thought closed. He couldn’t resist letting out a loud exclamation when he was overwhelmed by the unexpected discovery.
Davis was taken aback as his voice echoed with a mixture of disbelief, and astonishment, when he said “You!” How did you get here? He had tried to block out the image of this person, but it was etched into his memory. It was the last thing he expected, and especially in such a perplexing situation.
