Davis returned to his police station after a long and tiring day. He felt a sense of urgency that he had not felt for a long time. He parked himself immediately in front of the main computer at the station.
He believed that all cars in the U.S. were logged in the national vehicle database. With that belief, it was only a matter hours, or even minutes, until he found the car he wanted.
