Tips For Fasting Safely

Fast According To An Approved Schedule

To ensure maximum safety, patients are advised to follow a schedule that has been approved rather than trying to create their own. Many people have used approved schedules. They are therefore less likely to cause side effects. Ask your doctor what is the best approved fasting schedule based on their health. The 5:2 plan is one of the most popular fasting schedules. It requires two days of fasting of around 500 calories each, while the 6:1 diet requires just one day of eating less than 500 calories per week.

The 16:8 fasting schedule is approved by the FDA and allows patients to eat as normal every day. All meals must be eaten within eight hours. In the popular “eat-stop-eat” fasting schedule, you abstain from food for two or three days a week. Finding the best fasting schedule can take some time. Healthy patients should try a few approved schedules in order to find one that suits their lifestyle and needs. Patients should consult their doctor immediately if they have any concerns about their health while following a fasting plan.
