Process Improvement Implementation/Design & Documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
We offer direct support to office managers, supervisors and managers in all areas of the office including scheduling, employee relations and budgeting, as well as departmental management.
14. Vendor Relationships Management (a.k.a. Procurement)
A procurement officer’s job is to manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to procure goods and services for an organization. You must have the ability to read and understand contracts, as well as communicate with vendors over the phone or in person.
You’ll also need to learn how to research new products and services your company might want to purchase or which companies sell their wares in your field of expertise.
You will be at an advantage if, despite your interest in the field, you have already worked in a similar position before. This is because you may know people who will help you to get started right away. If you don’t have any experience, there are many other ways to learn more about this field.
15. Internet Research
Internet research can teach you a lot about a company and the industry that interests you. You can learn more about a company’s history, culture and products and services, as well as how they operate.
Imagine, for example, that you are applying to be a marketing director in a financial service firm. You could look at the website of that company to see how they have promoted their brand in the past. Search “marketing director” in Google News or LinkedIn for articles written about this position within the last month or so.
16. Compliance & Risk Management (think HIPAA, FERPA, or other industry-specific regulations)
Many organizations are very aware of the risks of a breach. You should include examples in your resume of how you have adhered to company policies and procedures when applying for a new job.
These skills should be included on your resume, just as you would any other experience in professional development. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate that you are not only willing and able to comply with a company’s policies, but also willing to assist them in doing so.
