46. The Drawing
Kelsey felt her stomach sink when she heard Jackson Madrone’s final words. She had dismissed the drawing of a sailor she’d found on a scrap of paper as a nightmare. The man was covered in black swirls and his mouth and eyes were scratched.
She kept her drawing to herself.
She realized that it wasn’t her dream, but a premonition. She wondered, in a state of despair, if Jackson Madrone had been her mystery artist. He had shared his notes and prep with the rest, so maybe he slipped in the artwork just to be sure.
