Reduce Stretch Marks
As microneedling promotes collagen production, it reduces stretch marks. Stretch marks are very common in pregnant women. They are also common in teens and people that have recently lost weight. The microneedling procedure promotes the regeneration of skin in the area where stretch marks are present.
Microneedling is effective in treating stretch marks, according to a number of studies. Microneedling is an effective stretch mark treatment according to a study conducted with 16 Korean participants. Participants underwent three sessions of treatment, each one every four weeks. Seven of the nine participants showed significant improvements compared to other nine. In a study of female participants, those who received needle therapy showed greater improvement than those who received microdermabrasion.
Microneedling has also been shown to be more effective in treating stretch marks than CO2 lasers. Egyptian women were divided into two groups and treated three times a month. The needle therapy group received treatment with CO2 lasers, while the CO2 laser group received needle therapy. The needle therapy group had a higher percentage of women who saw results.
