Clothing Hacks
1.Apply beeswax to the outer surface of canvas shoes. Make sure to cover all areas. Wave a hairdryer on the shoes to melt the wax and make it invisible. You can apply another layer of beeswax if you see the water-resistant finish beginning to deteriorate.
2.Iron a collar of a dress shirts with a straightening iron. It’s a quick and easy fix, saving you time from having to use your iron or board. Plug in your hair straightener and let it heat for a few minutes. Then clamp the straightener over both sides of your shirt collar. Do not do this while wearing your shirt.
- If you are going to wear your sweater over a dress shirt, why iron it?
3.Use white wine to minimize the appearance of red wine stains. Grab some white wine if you spill some red wine on a white shirt! Use white wine to dampen a clean, dry cloth and gently wipe the red wine stain. The stain won’t be completely removed, but the result is surprising.
- Use them if you have stain-removing wipes or sticks with you. They work better. Use them before washing your garment if you forgot them at home.
4.Prevent socks from falling out by pining pairs together before washing and drying. Outwit the “dryer-monster” and stop feeding it single socks! Secure each pair of socks with a safety tack before you put them in the washer.
- Replace any pins which show signs of corrosion.
