Originally, dog grooming was a practical thing. Dog shows made it an art. Now, everyone is trying to achieve the most creative hairstyles and freestyle grooming. In Japan, it’s a trend to groom your dog’s fur into geometric shapes such as trapezoids, parallelograms or cubes.
Toy poodles are especially affected. Toy poodles are becoming more popular in Japan, so grooming salons had to increase their prices from $4.55 to $9.10. Grooming costs on average $56.12 (6,00 Japanese Japanese yen ) so the increase is between 10 and 20 percent.
