Guide to Daily Eye Health & Safety

Have Regular Eye Exams

Optometrists recommend that individuals schedule an appointment every two years at the very least to check their vision, eye health and discuss any concerns. Note that your prescription may change over time if you need glasses. You may be able to keep your favorite frames but you will need to change the lenses to fit your prescription. Your optometrist will also be able to perform eye pressure tests, assess your risk of developing glaucoma or cataracts, and make other recommendations for your eye health when you go in for regular eye exams. Patients can also raise any concerns they may have about their eyes during eye exams. Optometrists are able to prescribe and recommend medications over-the counter that can alleviate symptoms.
