Numbness and tingling of the hands, arms, legs, and feet
Fibromyalgia patients often experience numbness or tingling of the hands, feet or arms. Medically, this numbness or tingling is called paresthesia. Around 1 in every 4 fibromyalgia patients experience numbness or tingling in some parts of their body.
Paresthesia is still not understood by doctors. This sensation can be caused by muscle stiffness or muscle spasms. These muscle spasms may impinge on nerve fibers, causing tingling. The tingling and numbing sensations may appear and disappear without any clear aggravating factor. If you experience tingling, numbness or pain in any part your body, contact your doctor immediately.
