Patients are also more likely to gain weight if they have constant pain, which can make it difficult to exercise. In addition, prescription drugs used to treat depression can cause weight gain. Duloxetine is one of the main examples which is taken to treat fibromyalgia associated-depression. It can lead to increased appetite, fluid retention, and weight gain.
