Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, Ukraine
The Chernobyl Exclusion zone is a 2,600km2 area of Ukraine that was evacuated following the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster. The area is now a ghost city, with abandoned vehicles, buildings and other remnants from the past.
This is a fascinating place to visit as it gives a unique perspective on the effects of nuclear disasters. It is unfortunately no longer accessible to the general public because of the high radiation levels still present. The area is now restricted to scientists and researchers.
