Jason’s letter touched Rosalynd deeply. Her positivity was boosted by the idea that a smile could go a long way. In general, waitresses have a variety of interactions with different people. They will have some good and some bad moments, but they rarely experience something so life-changing as this. Rosalynd’s experience was just beginning. But she had so much more in store. A Huge Tip!
The three diners’ lunch cost $72.60. Rosalynd was shocked when she discovered that they had given a $450 tip! Any tip over 20% is exciting for a waitress, but 625%? That was unbelievable! Waitresses in most countries and states do not receive high salaries. They are forced to work extremely hard for very low pay and must often survive solely on tips.
