Complete Shock
Jason and his friends left the restaurant about an hour later after saying goodbye and thanking them from a distance. Rosalynd had hoped to thank the men for their patronage and see them off. Rosalynd went to the table immediately to collect the tip and clean it up for her next customer. Rosalynd was not prepared for the events that followed.
A Note Unexpected
Rosalynd noticed that the cheque was written on when she arrived to pick it up and clean the table. She thought at first that it was a scribble until she examined it more closely and realized it was a note written by one of her friends. What could they have said to Rosalynd, if anything? Even though their conversation was friendly, she was still a waitress at the end of it all.
