Rosalynd Harris, a Washington waitress, works two jobs to pay for her college tuition. During the busiest weekend of the year, Rosalynd Harris was working at Busboys and Poets in Washington, where a group Texan men walked into the restaurant with their red hats. They stood out in the establishment with its laid-back and artistic vibe, which is known as a place to meet civil rights activists and artists. Rosalynd was worried that they were looking for trouble. It was a very emotional weekend across the country.
Nervous
The 25-year old waitress felt nervous at first and hoped that they wouldn’t cause any problems for her or the other customers. She would soon find out if she was relying on gut instincts or on her own ideas based on the image of these men. Rosalynd was not the first to have trouble at her restaurant. But these men were a whole new level of frightening and intimidating.
